Tough battle comes down to the wire

After a tough battle over 40 minutes with McHenry County College, the Cyclones lost the lead in the final moments of the game for a rare defeat in conference play.

For most of this game, the Cyclones were ahead and at one point were up by 15 points. Although the Scots continued to battle back, Moraine Valley was still able to hold the lead, up 49-42 at halftime.

With less than four minutes left, the Scots tied the game at 83 and continued to gain ground by sinking their free throws. Despite some last minute drives from Enari Thomas to get within range, the Scots' ability to sink free throws solidified the narrow loss for the Cyclones.

Thomas led the effort with 23 points and added five assists. Davion Lawrence contributed 16 points, including two three-pointers, and six rebounds. Javonte McKenzie added 14 points along with three steals.
