Second half surge yields victory

Second half surge yields victory

The Cyclones' latest victory was pure will and determination over a tough Bryant and Stratton College, but they persevered thanks to a strong second half.

The Bobcats have been nationally ranked this season and in the past have given the Cyclones trouble. And trouble is how the game started as Moraine Valley trailed in the first half, down by 11 at halftime. They made their resurgence in the second half led by Luis Acevedo, who was offensively on fire. He scored 26 of the Cyclones' 53 points to edge out the Bobcats 79-75.

Acevedo led with 30 points, going four-for-four from the free-throw line. Javonte McKenzie was the next highest scorer with 12 points and added four steals. Juvon Crawford added 11 points, and Davion Lawrence earned a double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds).
