Cyclones keep things close with nationally ranked Stormers

The Cyclones came out charging against the nationally ranked Milwaukee Area Technical College, but ran out of steam in the end.

Throughout this game, the Cyclones stayed right with the Stormers, taking brief leads. Frank DeCarlo and Enari Thomas helped give their team a lead late in the first half, but in the final few minutes the Stormers capitalized on missed shots by the Cyclones. Javonte McKenzie got Moraine Valley within one (37-36) before halftime after sinking two free throws.

Thomas started the scoring in the second half, but the Stormers continued to counter and ultimately maintain a lead. With nearly six minutes left, the Cyclones were down by 10 points. Key baskets from McKenzie, DeCarlo and Thomas got them back within one point. However, several fouls in the final minutes hurt the Cyclones' chances as they dropped this one 87-79.

Thomas led the offense with 37 points, and McKenzie was next with 13. Deven Jiles led with 10 rebounds while Davion Lawrence grabbed eight. Amarion Johnson had five blocks for the night.
