Cyclones hold on to narrow victory

The Cyclones improved their record to 22-5 after narrowly edging out the College of Lake County Lancers (11-14).

This was an off night for the Cyclones as they struggled on offense, especially from the free-throw line, while the Lancers stepped it up. At halftime, Moraine Valley only led 28-26. However, the Cyclones made enough defensive stops and timely baskets in the last eight minutes of the game to pull off the 61-58 victory.

With starter Kobe Adams out with an injury, the Cyclones haven't had that offensive kick from him when they struggle to score. However, they are getting solid contributions from Javonte McKenzie and the Reyes brothers, Nicco and David. Luis Acevedo also has been playing well.

"It wasn't an easy day. Plus a tough drive there and back, but we made it back safe and sound with a win," said Head Coach John Chappetto.

Enari Thomas led with 17 points while Anthony Taylor added 12 points and seven rebounds. Acevedo contributed nine points.
