Off day for the Cyclones

Off day for the Cyclones

It was an off day for the Cyclones (17-3) as they dropped their first Skyway Conference game to Prairie State College (13-7), losing 92-84.

The Cyclones started off slowly while the Pioneers' offense kept driving to the basket and continued to build a lead. One of the team's leading scorers, Kobe Adams, didn't score his first bucket until midway through the first half. By halftime, the Cyclones had their biggest deficit of the season, down 51-27.

A renewed energy accompanied the Cyclones in the second half. They added more pressure to the Pioneers and were more aggressive driving to the basket. Enari Thomas led the attack, scoring 15 points. The stronger press also slowed the Pioneers' scoring, particularly in the final minute when the Cyclones inched within five points. However, Cyclone fouls tripped up the comeback and led to this rare loss.

Thomas led with 23 points and three steals. Adams collected 16 points while Anthony Taylor amassed 13 points and 11 rebounds. Taijon Barry added 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Davion Lawrence also had 10 points.
