Cyclones edge out Spartans

Cyclones edge out Spartans

Through the ups and downs of this first Skyway Conference matchup, the Cyclones needed an overtime to grab the narrow 90-89 win over Elgin Community College on the road.

To start, the Cyclones were down 22-11 before taking a brief 11-point lead. That turned into a 47-all tie at halftime. With less than three minutes in the game, the Cyclones held a 10-point lead, which was squashed by an 11-1 Spartans' run to tie the game at 79 and push it into overtime.

More of the same happened in the short overtime, but a final layup in the last seconds by Enari Thomas gave the Cyclones the edge and win.

Kobe Adams led the offense with 27 points along with 14 rebounds. Trace Williams had 23 points and 13 rebounds while Thomas finished with 22 points and five assists.
