Out of sorts

Out of sorts

This just wasn't the Cyclones' night, as they dropped a conference game 98-88 to McHenry County College.

From the start, the Cyclones were off, trailing just after tipoff. It took nearly five minutes into the game before the Cyclones put any points on the board, thanks to a layup from Jace Lee. The Cyclone offense was stunted while the Scots couldn't miss a shot. Whenever the Cyclones made some progress, the Scots always answered. Although Moraine Valley was down by as much as 11 points, they scrapped back from added pressure and some offensive push from Isiah Burd and Anthony Taylor. With less than three minutes to go, Burd finally tied things up and on a breakaway gave his team the first lead of the game, 34-32. Ahmad Jarad extended the lead to 37-35 with a three-pointer and 52 seconds on the clock, but the Scots ultimately knotted the score 39-39 by halftime.

The second half saw more back and forth possession, but the Cyclones were always behind. Midway through, the Scots went on an 11-0 run. Kobe Adams had a few scoring moments that brought his team within five points, but the Cyclones lost steam in the final minutes for the 10-point loss.
