The battle was on between the Cyclones and the Elgin Community College Spartans, but being down a couple of key players left the Cyclones a little unsteady as they fell 78-73.
After being up early in the game, starter Isiah Burd suffered an injury that took him out. A couple of other starters are playing through injuries as well, leaving the team worse for the wear. At halftime the teams were deadlocked at 32. The second half saw the Spartans inch away, but the Cyclones continued to stay in the game.
Ahmad Jarad led the offense with 15 points followed by Jace Lee with 14. Anthony Taylor and Trace Williams each earned double-doubles. Taylor had 13 points and 11 rebounds with four assists while Williams scored 11 with 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Jalen Levy had another good night with 11 points and seven rebounds.
