Big win on sophomore night

Big win on sophomore night

Although the Cyclones earned a blowout victory over McHenry County College on sophomore night, it wasn't locked from the start.

Moraine Valley jumped ahead within the first few minutes and slowly built a lead. However, the Scots went on a scoring spree in the last four minutes of the first half, hitting several threes to get within one. The Cyclones went on a run of their own to create a 15-point cushion at halftime. Some turnovers kept scoring tight in the second half, but the Cyclones had already built a large enough lead to get the 102-82 win by the end.

Jalen Hughes had a big night with 32 point and seven assists. Dontia Johnson added 17 points and seven rebounds. Jalen Levy and Zion Fortune each had 12 points, but Fortune earned a double-double with 10 rebounds to lead the team. Trevon Jones led with five steals and added nine points and seven rebounds.
