Stinging loss

Stinging loss

After coming off a high of defeating the No. 3 team in the nation, the Cyclones were brought back to reality with a stinging 89-78 loss to Prairie State College.

The Cyclones were just outplayed as their defense and shooting were out of sync with the Pioneers who came into this game with a seven-game win streak. Moraine Valley went down early, trailing 47-31 at halftime. Although they attempted to push at the end like they have for a number of other games this season to win, they couldn't make up the difference in enough time.

Jalen Hughes led the effort with 21 points and five assists. Dontia Johnson (17 points, seven rebounds), Trevon Jones (13 points) and Jalen Levy (11 points) also contributed.
