The comeback kids

These Cyclones have the will to win, and it showed in their last-minute effort to defeat McHenry County College.

Facing a physical and hungry McHenry squad, the Cyclones trailed the entire game. The Scots were on a roll, and the Cyclones were unable to make necessary stops and rebound when needed. But Moraine Valley kept pushing. Still down, a few guys made the right moves and turned things around with less than six minutes to go. Zion Fortune had two big threes to keep his team close. Christopher Harrison then had a three to tie it at 78 with nearly two minutes left before Dontia Johnson hit two big free throws. Jalen Hughes sunk a three, had a steal and couple free throws to seal the 87-81 victory.

"The Scots played a great game. We couldn't stop them, but finally we got some big stops and rebounded, things we weren't doing," said Head Coach John Chappetto. "Our team has a great will to win, and we showed it again. It didn't look good, but we were able to put them away."
