The matchup between the Cyclones and conference rival Elgin Community College was an even split with both teams yielding 15 wins and one game difference in losses. Moraine Valley, however, came out strong to demolish the Spartans 101-77.

Even while facing a team that boasts the second leading point scorer in NJCAA Division III, the Cyclones were able to dampen any surges by the Spartans. The Cyclones jumped to a double-digit lead early in the first half thanks to big offensive moves from Trevon Jones (24 points) and Jalen Hughes (21 points). Although Moraine Valley had a hefty lead before halftime, Jalen Levy (10 points) sunk a buzzer beater from half court putting his team up 54-38. The second half saw the Cyclones continue to run away on offense and cause plenty of turnovers from the Spartans. Dontia Johnson (15 points) and Christopher Harrison (13 points) also contributed.
