If there's one thing Moraine Valley alumni student-athletes know, it's drawing from the lessons learned at the college and putting them to good use.
Hundreds of students have passed through the Athletics Office doors, bringing accolades to their teams, themselves and the college. Many have transferred or graduated and gone on to successful careers in broadcasting, education, law enforcement, politics and, in some cases, continued working in the sports arena, among others.
Amongst the alumni, six are Cyclones coaches, including Ari Bulthuis (2013, 2014) for softball, Dimitri Dimizas (2009, 2010) for cross country, Jaelyn Donald (2021, 2022) for volleyball, Nick Karczynski (2018, 2019) for men's tennis, Matt Lovelace (2009, 2010) for golf and Simona Tomczak (2022, 2023) for women's tennis. Some alumni coach at other colleges or high schools around the country as well.
Those still participating in their sport include Richaun Holmes (2011-12) in the NBA; Ashley Hunter (2017-19), who plays with a professional basketball team in Morocco; Saul White Jr. (2004-06), who is a Harlem Globetrotter; and Hanah Shehaiber (1999-2001), who is a referee for IHSA soccer.
