All-Sports trophy returns to Moraine Valley

All-Sports trophy returns to Moraine Valley

After three years, the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference All-Sports Award has returned to Moraine Valley thanks to the successes of all the college's teams this academic year.

The Cyclones last earned the honor after the 2021-22 season. This is the 11th time the college has won the trophy since 2004. This trophy recognizes the collective achievements of a college's sports teams, adding another layer of competitiveness amongst the schools.

Each of the eight colleges in the conference is awarded points based on its teams' eight highest finishes at the end of the year. The Cyclone men's and women's cross country as well as women's tennis team each won a Skyway title. Golf, volleyball and men's soccer each finished second.

The conference competition is consistently intense, making this coveted trophy a prize of grit, dedication and ultimate triumph. With the collective efforts by talented athletes, coaches and staff, the award returned to Moraine Valley.

"We weren't sure if we'd bring the trophy back home, but I'm happy and excited to say we did. This is just a true testament to our amazing staff, coaches, gifted athletes and campus leaders we have on campus," said General McArthur III, Moraine Valley athletics director. "The drive and determination our coaches and student-athletes have is inspiring and truly represent our competitive spirit."
