Cyclones fall sports rolling into the season

The summer always feels long when the Cyclones are anxious to get back to games, matches and races. All seven fall teams are ready to roll starting Aug. 19.

The men's soccer, volleyball, golf and men's cross country teams are stacked while women's cross country, women's tennis and women's soccer teams have a lot of strong incoming talent to make some noise this fall. Men's cross country is gearing up to defend its Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championship, and volleyball is hoping to avenge some losses from last year.

"Our athletes have been working hard to prepare for the season, and I know they will bring Moraine Valley more success," said Bill Finn, Athletics director.

Men's soccer opens the season at home against Malcolm X while volleyball starts at the Rockford tournament on Aug. 19. Golf starts conference action on Aug. 24, women's soccer opens the season at home against Kankakee Community College on Aug. 27. Both cross country teams begin competition on Sept. 2 while women's tennis has the season opener on Sept. 3 at Sauk Valley Community College.
