As quickly as it started, the Cyclones’ run at the national tournament was over. They entered the consolation bracket ranked No. 10 and fell to Cape Fear Community College (No. 15).
In their opening matchup of the NJCAA Division II Volleyball championship, the Cyclones (No. 10) faced an unfamiliar foe in Kirkwood Community College (No. 7), battling to the end.
In the next round of region playoffs, the Cyclones earned another shutout, going 3-0 over Sauk Valley Community College. They head to the NJCAA Region IV championship tomorrow.
Going into the Parkland College Tournament (Oct. 28-29), the Cyclones were riding a confidence high with eight straight victories. They came out of the tough two-day battle 1-3.
Starting the second day of competition, the Cyclones battled through five sets with Lincoln Land Community College but came up on the short end of the stick.
Moraine Valley headed down to Illinois Central College in Peoria for a tri-match to face a couple of unfamiliar teams. They battled through several sets but dropped both matches.
That’s five in a row for the Cyclones as they put out another dominating performance, this time against the visiting Waubonsee Community College Chiefs.
