Lone Cyclone runs in season debut

Injuries have plagued the Cyclone roster this season as only one runner competed at the Brissman-Lundeen Invite in her season debut.

Lizbeth Juarez-Castillo was the lone runner from the women's team healthy enough to compete in what happened to be her season debut. She ran after the men's race, so it had gotten even hotter out. She finished in 37:59.5 for 78th place.

"There were no time goals for her. I just wanted her to gain some experience running the 6K distance. This race played out the same way as the men's, with most women struggling to finish and many dropping out of the race," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "Liz is competitive, and even though she was hurting, she fought all the way to the finish line. I'm proud of her for that."
