The Cyclones were looking for redemption, but came up just short in the Region 4 District A finals.

Earlier this season, the Cyclones lost a rare match to region rival Sauk Valley Community College. The two matched up again in the region championship with the Cyclones looking for a win and a second consecutive trip to nationals. But it wasn't in the cards.

Moraine Valley was down a player after Mary Zielinski was injured in yesterday's victory. Still, the Cyclones kept things close each set even without their leading scorer, but just couldn't pull away from the Skyhawks, losing 3-1 (20-25, 25-12, 23-25, 20-25).

Lily Avelar collected 28 digs while Ava Pequette had 31 assists and 10 digs. Kaila Butvilas amassed 17 kills and 15 digs. Brooklyn Condon finished with 14 digs.

For their performance during regionals, Condon and Zielinski earned nods to the All-Tournament team.
