Matt Marusarz made a happy return to the Cyclone tennis program as the women’s head coach in summer 2021.

Marusarz was a Cyclone during the 2019 and 2020 seasons, the latter of which was canceled due to COVID-19. He has played competitive tennis for six years and has coached JV tennis at Oak Lawn Community High School. He also leads summer tennis camps.

Although he’s new to college coaching, Marusarz aims to assure his players leave the court with a sense of accomplishment and growth. He intends to nurture their passion for the game and push them to reach their full potential while working toward a team region championship.

“I am very excited to be coaching Cyclone tennis. With me being a past player, it will be a great experience to give my players the tools and knowledge they need to try to bring Moraine Valley a regional championship and a shot at nationals,” he said.

Marusarz continues to play recreational tennis and is finishing a bachelor’s degree at Trinity Christian College.
