The Cyclones finally opened their season at Sauk Valley Community College. However, a few game-time injuries yielded some forfeits and contributed to their 5-4 loss.

The team was ready to bring home a win and played well in all positions, but a couple players suffered minor injuries in early sets to forfeit four matches. Otherwise, freshmen Izzy Slezakova, Simona Tomczak, Aubree Schultz and Erica Chapan each played well and earned the wins.
