In their season opener, the Cyclones put up a good fight against the visiting Kankakee Community College Cavaliers, but fell 2-0.

This largely new team had several chances to score, hitting the crossbar at least three times. They did have a strong defensive front by Aoife Finn, Emma Ahern, Sarah Hughes and Dyani Calderon.
