Cameron and Manthey score big in quarterfinal win

The Cyclones (15-14) successfully made it past round one of the playoffs after winning a decisive 77-51 victory over the visiting Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers (13-14).

Things started off close for both teams, but the Cyclones were able to hold onto a 21-18 lead. It was the second quarter where they pulled away, going on a few scoring runs and holding the Stormers to just eight points. By halftime, the Cyclones were up 35-26. It turned into a big offensive rout for Reagan Cameron and Maggie Manthey, as the two couldn't be stopped in the third quarter. The duo collectively scored 43 points, including several threes. Expanding their lead in the fourth quarter, more non-starters had the opportunity to get some minutes in, sealing the win.

Cameron finished with 24 points, going 6-for-17 from the three-point line. Manthey scored 19, going 3-for-4 from the three-point line and adding six rebounds. Katchie Savic added 11 assists and four steals while Kirsten Kamholz led with eight rebounds.

The Cyclones continue their playoff run on Saturday, Feb. 26, 1 p.m., when they face Black Hawk College in the semifinals in Moline.
