Cyclone offense shows up in split with Scots

The offense lit up when the Cyclones faced McHenry County College, splitting the doubleheader and scoring 20 runs in their victory.

GAME 1
The Cyclones lost the first matchup 10-5 after the Scots went on a hitting spree in the final three innings.

Going down 1-0 after the top of the first, the Cyclones jumped ahead 2-1 thanks to a sac fly from Mya Granados (1-for-2, RBI) after Emma Hansen and Jolene Anderson (2-for-3, 2B, HR, 2 RBIs) walked. The Scots tied the game in the next inning, but both teams were quiet after that until the fourth when Anderson came up with long homerun to retake the lead. Granados and Riley Evoy (2-for-3, RBI) each had singles in that inning, but no additional runs were scored.

McHenry scored a few more runs before the Cyclone offense reignited in the sixth. Hansen reached first on a fielding error and scored off Anderson's double. Evoy singled to score their final run.

GAME 2
Moraine Valley collected 18 hits in the second game in their 20-11 victory.

It started with a nine-run first inning with singles from Hansen (3-for-4, RBI), Granados (2-for-4, 2B, 5 RBIs), Brialynn Mica (3-for-5, 2 RBIs), Ruby Amigon (2-for-5, 2B, 4 RBIs), Megan McClelland (2-for-4) and a double from Anderson (2-for-4, 2B, 3 RBIs) plus a few walks. They continued the barrage with a six-run sixth inning to solidify the victory. Marissa Walsh added an RBI (2-for-4) while Stephanie Lohman (1-for-4, 2B) and Maya Conners (1-for-4, 3B) each had 2 RBIs.
