Coming up short

Coming up short

The Cyclones started the day facing a New York team – Mohawk Valley Community College – but came up short.

They struggled at the plate this game, mustering three hits and scoring once in the 7-1 loss. Moraine Valley scored in the second inning after Stephanie Lohman (1-for-2) singled and Ruby Amigon was hit by a pitch to get on. Emma Hansen advanced the runners with a ground out before Rachel Minnich (1-for-3) singled to load the bases. Megan McClelland (1-for-4) grounded into a fielder's choice but scored Amigon. In that same inning, Mya Granados walked to load the bases again, but the Cyclones were unable to capitalize.
