A couple rough innings for the Cyclones

The Cyclones hung in there with Waubonsee Community College, but one rough inning in each game was their undoing.

When the Chiefs scored a run in the top of the first, the Cyclones countered with their own. By the fourth inning, they were down 4-2. However, the Chiefs went on a scoring rampage in the fifth inning, and the Cyclones had some errors as well. Nicole Wagner and Alexandria Palumbo each had a double and scored their teams' runs in the 12-2 loss. Cassidy Ostema took the mound in this game.

In the second game, the Cyclones put up a few more runs and collected more hits, but a five-run inning by the Chiefs dealt them the 12-4 loss. More errors hurt the Cyclones in this game as well. Moraine Valley earned all their runs in the third and fourth innings thanks to a homerun by Palumbo (2-for-2) and solid hits from Mya Granados (2-for-2). Emily Madrigal was the starting pitcher, striking out two in this 12-4 loss.
