Bats alive but not enough in opening day loss

Bats alive but not enough in opening day loss

On a chilly opening to their season, the Cyclones bats were moving but errors helped Joliet Junior College deal them the 11-8 loss.

Emily Madrigal (3-for-3, 2 RBIs) started the offense with a two-run double and helped her team take an early lead. In her first three at-bats in college, Riley Evoy (3-for-4, 6 RBIs) hit all homeruns, in the first third and fifth innings. Although the Cyclones were steady at the plate, they couldn't stop the 13 hits by the Wolves. Alexandria Palumbo, Mya Granados and Nicole Wagner also had hits in this game to give the Cyclones 11 overall. Cassidy Ostema was on the mound for the Cyclones, striking out four.

The Cyclones were supposed to play a double header, but the length of the first game was too long and it was too dark halfway through the first inning of the second game.
