The Cyclones were ready to get back on track today, but the weather, injuries and illness caused some setbacks. They lost 7-2 to Sauk Valley Community College.
In their third straight match, the Cyclones are temporarily missing their No. 2 player and suffering some minor injuries after having to play in some cold and windy weather. The lone wins came from James Coan at No. 4 singles (7-5, 6-2) and Edwin Esparza Hernandez (6-1, 6-0). David Souza fought through a third-set tiebreaker (7-5, 4-6, 10-7) in a close match as did No. 3 doubles Jakub Zolnik and Lucas Skowyra (6-2, 5-7, 10-8).
The Cyclones are aiming to move past these setbacks and get back to their winning ways starting tomorrow against College of DuPage.
