Heading into the Region 4 quarterfinal with nationally ranked Carl Sandburg College on, the talented Cyclones knew they had as much a chance to win as they did. Moraine Valley came up just short in this battle.

Coming in as the No. 7 seed against the No. 2 seed, the Cyclones turned on the heat, playing a scoreless first half with the Chargers. Neither team had a shot on goal until the 48th minute when a Sandburg player netted one under the crossbar.

Moraine Valley had a near goal in the 61st minute on a free kick but was stopped by a diving keeper. A corner kick headed in from the Chargers in the 86th minute dealt the Cyclones their ultimate 2-0 loss.
