Golf returns for spring action; Davila medals at Sauk Valley Invite

Cyclones golf began their atypical spring season preparing for the Region 4 tournament with a round at the Sauk Valley Invite. Moraine Valley placed 12th overall, and one golfer earned fifth place overall.

It was a decent day for the Cyclones, who have been working on their game in the offseason. As a team, they were only 20 shots from third place. Dan Davila shot a 76, barely trailing the leader who shot a 74, which earned him fifth place and a medal. Following him were Ben King with 80, Kyle Kuchel (86), David Prim (87), Joey O'Brien (87) and Ryan Flynders (91).

This was a good test for the Cyclones, as the PrairieView Golf Club is the same course they'll compete on at the end of the month for the NJCAA Region 4 tournament.

"It wasn't too bad. Some guys struggled, and Dan did fantastic, but if we can save a few strokes, we will be right there at regionals," said Head Coach Matt Lovelace.
