A 15th place finish at Illinois Valley Classic

The Cyclones had split performances during the Illinois Valley Classic, finishing 15th overall.

On the first day of competition, the course was saturated from rain, but that didn't stop three Cyclones from hitting rounds in the 70s. The second day, however, Mother Nature threw in downpours and wind to throw off the golfers. Paul Douglas (78, 84) led the way followed by Marty Bennett (79, 86), Akim Bizati (77, 97), Patrick Clifton (92, 96) and Michael Rollberg (90, 101). Despite the rough end to the outing, the Cyclones will use this experience to better prepare for the region tournament at the start of October.

"This was the day we've been waiting for," said Head Coach Matt Lovelace. "The performance was not what we wanted, however, it was a great learning experience to know what to expect and how to prepare for regionals in two weeks."
