Cyclones have the edge

In their 21st win of the season, the No. 18 ranked Cyclones narrowly edged out the College of Lake County Lancers 85-82.

The Lancers were hot to start with an 8-2 lead, but the Cyclones bounced back despite some missed layups and turnovers. They were able to take the lead but not until late in the first half with a surge under five minutes. Throughout the second half, the Cyclones continued to stay ahead by as much as 12 points but could never put away the Lancers, who fought back and capitalized on Cyclone turnovers. With some close calls before the buzzer, the Cyclones were able to hang on at the end.

Trevon Jones saw most of his offense come alive in the second half, where he scored 15 points for a total 21 along with 15 rebounds overall. Ryan Saunders added 17 points and grabbed nine boards. Dontia Johnson (14 points), Jalen Hughes (11 points, eight assists) and Christopher Harrison (10 rebounds, nine points) also contributed.
