Fighting the good fight

Fighting the good fight

Facing one of their toughest opponents to date this season, the Cyclones put up a good fight against the No. 3 South Suburban College Bulldogs but came up short in an 81-70 loss.

Most of this game was close between the region foes with the Cyclones in the lead most of the first half. At halftime, Moraine Valley was only down 36-33. The Bulldogs made a run in the second half, however, pushing the Cyclones to a 12-point deficit. But Moraine Valley fought back again and clawed within two. A few costly turnovers at the end forced the Cyclones to play the fouling game, which led to a number of sunken Bulldog free throws.

Michael Drynan led the effort with a double-double (19 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks), followed by Maurice Chambers (14 points) and Jalen Hughes (13 points).
