Offense hits rough patch

Offense hits rough patch

The Cyclones collected a handful of hits and runs in their doubleheader loss to Oakton College.

GAME 1
The Owls got on the board first in the second inning before the Cyclones scored in the fourth. The bases were loaded after Jack Hoh (1-for-2) walked, Dimitri Spatharakis was hit by a pitch and Emmet Barry (1-for-3) singled. Christian Cardenas grounded into a fielder's choice, which scored two. Niko Mastoras (1-for-2) and Jack Hoh singled and a few other Cyclones earned walks, but not enough to score more in the team's 11-2 loss.

Dane McDonald was the starting pitcher and collected four strikeouts.

GAME 2
The Cyclone offense was stunted in this game, accumulating six hits to the Owls' 12 in the 10-0 loss. Xavier Aguilar singled in the second and fourth innings while Hoh singled in the fourth. Austin Zernia, Christian Rosales and Mastoras each singled in the fifth, which was the last time the Cyclones got runners on base.
