Aguilar throws no hitter in shutout

In a one-off game with Prairie State College, the Cyclone offense took control to shut out the Pioneers 11-0.

The first three innings went quick before the Cyclones lit up. In the top of the fourth, Niko Mastoras (1-for-4) started with a walk before Dimitri Spatharakis (1-for-3) and Emmet Barry (2-for-4, RBI) each singled to load the bases. Nicholas Haran (1-for-4, 3 RBIs) came up with a three-run double followed by an RBI single from Christian Cardenas (1-for-4, RBI). Austin Zernia (2-for-3) hit a single, and Jaylun Camper (1-for-2, RBI) walked to load the bases. Christian Rosales was hit by a pitch to get another run before there were two outs. Jack Hoh (2-for-4, 4 RBIs) ended the hits that inning with a two-run single to center field to get his team up 7-0.

The Cyclones scored the rest of their runs in the sixth inning starting with a triple to right field from Zernia. Camper then came up with an RBI double. Mastoras singled before Hoh hit another two-run double. With two outs, Barry singled in the final run. Cyclone pitching and defense kept the Pioneers in check as Xavier Aguilar threw a full game, striking out 11 and walking just two batters, in his first no-hitter of the season.
