Cyclones take one from Stromers; Miller homers in win

As the season winds down, the Cyclones split two with Milwaukee Area Technical College.

To start, the Cyclones narrowly won 3-1. Yashion Boswell (1-for-3) got the scoring started in the second inning with an RBI single to get his team ahead 1-0. In the top of the fifth, William Miller (1-for-4) crushed a homerun to go up 2-0. Arnoldo Velazquez (2-for-2) was walked in the sixth and later scored on a fielding error. Moraine Valley was able to hold the Stormers until the bottom of the seventh when they scored one, but the pitching and fielding secured the win. Joshua Basinger was the winning pitcher, throwing 10 strikeouts and allowing one hit.

The Cyclone offense was a little stunted in the second game as they fell 5-0. Only Maxwell Hensler, Ben Cash and Christian Cardenas were able to collect a hit. Nate Pacetti took the rubber to start, allowing eight hits and striking out three.
