Break out the brooms

The Cyclones got back to some winning with a two-game sweep of Olive-Harvey College.

In the first 8-5 victory, Moraine Valley got things moving after William Miller (2-for-2) scored one on a sac fly. A four-run fourth inning helped them pull away for good, however. Yashion Boswell drew a walk, scoring one, Christian Cardenas (1-for-4) singled to score two and Jack Hoh (1-for-4) grounded out but scored a run. Joshua Basinger earned the win, allowing nine hits and five runs over six innings, striking out four. Cole Hermanson threw one inning of relief for the save.

In game two, Miller (3-for-5, 4 RBIs) was clutch at the plate with runners on base, driving in four runs on three hits to lead Moraine Valley past the Panthers 13-8. He had an RBI double in the first, and then a homerun in the second and fifth innings. Cardenas (2-for-3) also had 3 RBIs to help lead the team, including one in the first inning. Nate Pacetti (2-for-4) doubled in a run in the first inning as well. Some sac flies in the third gave the Cyclones an 8-0 lead before the Panthers came back with singles and a double in the bottom of the third. Hoh (2-for-4) also doubled in a run in seventh. Ben Cash was the winning pitcher, allowing eight runs while striking out seven.
