One rough inning

One rough inning

Sometimes it's just one rough inning that causes all the trouble. Unfortunately, the Cyclones were on the short end in an 18-8 loss to College of DuPage.

The Cyclones got their offense started in the first inning thanks to a fielder's choice with Peter Mitchell at bat. Whenever Moraine Valley scored, the Chaparrals answered. Mitchell grounded out but scored a run in the third after which DuPage scored.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Chaparrals went on a hitting barrage, scoring nine runs, putting it out of reach for the Cyclones. Mitchell and Danzel Lucas each had three RBIs while Gilberto Hernandez and Christian Cardenas each had one. Yashion Boswell and Jack Hoh had the most hits, both going 2-for-4. On the mound Nate Pacetti collected four strikeouts and gave up four hits.
