Big offense leads Cyclones to victory

The bats were moving the Cyclones were able to edge out Kankakee Community College in a high-scoring affair for the win.

The Cyclones got the offense started in the second inning after Yashion Boswell scored one run on a sac fly. The Cavaliers kept countering with runs, but Moraine Valley was able to even the score in the fourth thanks to Danzel Lucas, Maxwell Hensler, Nate Pacetti, William Miller, Jack Hoh and Boswell, who each drove in runs.

A four-run lead in the sixth inning helped the Cyclones gain momentum again, and they were up by four in the eighth. However, Kankakee scored five more for a two-run lead. While trailing 14-13 in the top of the ninth, the Cyclones loaded the bases and Peter Mitchell crushed a two-strike double to clear the bases for the ultimate 16-15 win.

Cole Hermanson led the Cyclones on the hill with Joshua Basinger and Dane McDonald throwing in relief for the victory.
