Big offensive innings help Cyclones surge past Wolves

The Cyclones earned a nice team win over region rival Joliet Junior College thanks to some big offensive innings.

The big hitters of the day were Kyel Alexander and Stephen Insley, who collectively batted in seven runs. Alexander (4 RBIs) had three hits, including a bases-loaded triple. Insley's (3 RBIs) three hits included a perfectly executed safety squeeze bunt. Thomas Moran (2-for-6) drove in another run.

A big five-run sixth inning for the Cyclones put them up 7-1. Then they sat back, and the Wolves countered at the bottom of the sixth with five runs of their own. The Cyclone offense doubled down for another five runs that helped seal the victory.

Jeremy Urdiales earned the win, pitching 4.1 innings. Michael Dudek pitched a huge relief inning in a tight spot while Xavier Rosado pitched three lights-out relief innings to shut the door.
