Join a Skyway conference championship squad this fall! The Cyclone men’s soccer team is hosting tryouts on Saturday, May 18, 9 a.m. to noon, on their practice field on 86th Avenue just east of campus.
This year’s men’s soccer team was talented and strong. Although they didn’t get as far in the playoffs as they wanted, they were still able to boast one of the program’s best records along with a co-conference championship.
Things just weren’t clicking for the Cyclones yesterday, as they lost a heartbreaking 3-2 match in overtime to Prairie State College in the NJCAA Region IV quarterfinals.
The Cyclones continued their winning ways last night in a shutout of College of Lake County. Moraine Valley blanked the Lancers 3-0 to bring their Skyway conference record to 7-0.
The Cyclones have a target on their back, and everyone wants a piece. Waubonsee Community College was on that bandwagon last night in their long-awaited rematch from last season’s region final. The Cyclones avenged themselves in the 2-1 victory.
A wet field made for a slick matchup between the Cyclones and McHenry County College last night, but Moraine Valley was able to make it work in their 4-1 victory.
Before their season opener Aug. 25, the Cyclones knew their first games on the road would set the tone for the rest of the year. So far so good. They won their first match 2-1 over Lincoln Land Community College.
A penalty kick was the lone culprit separating the Cyclone men’s soccer team from a long-desired trip to the national tournament last season. Plenty of players return this year from that talented squad hoping to avenge themselves and repeat with a top region record.
