Cyclones run first race of season

Down too many runners to earn points, the Cyclone women were able to race for the first time this season and put forth strong efforts at the Heartland Community College Meet.

Freshman Olivia Wrobel led the way for her small and mighty team, finishing 35th in 25:58. Stephanie Tuscher (38th, 26:46) and Jaime Funk (39th, 26:52) followed close behind.

"We obviously knew we weren't scoring as a team, but the women gave it their best effort. It was the first time in a long time they got the chance to race, and I know they'll improve on their performances next time around," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "They didn't have many people around them to compete with, which is always tough, but we have a few weeks to get them ready for their next meet."
