Split at Waubonsee tourney

After playing just one match in two weeks, the Cyclones were back in action at the Waubonsee Community College tournament. They faced two opponents and split the night.

First, the Cyclones defeated Illinois Valley Community College 3-0: 25-18, 25-16, 25-8. The Cyclones had enough talent to outplay the Eagles, but didn't have the same energy that they've brought to some of their matches this season. Abby Sarich led the effort with 15 kills, 11 digs and four blocks while Jacquelyn Wheaton added six kills. Nicole Ramirez had 24 assists.

The second matchup with Sauk Valley Community College was a fight to the bitter end, one the Cyclones narrowly dropped: 22-25, 19-25, 25-21, 22-25. They leveled up and were ready to play the Skyhawks. According to the Cyclone coaches, the team just needed a few more practices and games to surpass the Skyhawks. Sarich led this match with 19 kills and four more blocks. Takiyah Clark added seven kills while Ramirez had 36 assists. Jaelyn Donald finished with 14 digs and three aces, and Julia Stefanon contributed 14 digs.
