Sophomore Brooke Zielke grabbed a win at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-0) and at No. 1 doubles with partner Libby Newton (6-3, 6-2). Nearly every player won at least one game. Julie Andrist (No. 2) lost 1-6, 1-6. Trisha Meyers (No. 3) battled through two sets (5-7, 3-6) while Serene Itani (No. 4) fell 1-6, 0-6. Newton (No. 5) lost 1-6, 0-6 and Milca Barrera (No. 6) fell 0-6, 2-6. In exhibition play, Ban Alobaidi (0-6, 2-6) and Olivia Preston (1-6, 3-6) fought through some tough action. Meyers/Andrist held their own at No. 2 doubles (4-6, 3-6) and Barrera/Itani faltered at No. 3 doubles (0-6, 0-6). Alobaidi/Preston lost at exhibition doubles as well (1-6, 2-6).

"Despite the loss, it was a good match across the board against a highly competitive team. With their lineup, McHenry has a shot of winning it all, so we are looking forward to playing them again in the regional tournament," said Head Coach Breanna Vollan. "We have three matches this week, so we'll see how that goes. I'm thankful for the women on the team and the players they are becoming."
