The Cyclones held their own with the No. 11 nationally ranked Rock Valley College, but some last second shots led to their 71-65 loss.

Moraine Valley started off strong, thanks in part to Reagan Cameron hitting two early 3-pointers to get her team ahead by five. The Cyclones ended the quarter with an 11-2 run and 23-18 lead. The Golden Eagles gained the halftime lead, however, with a big 3-point shot as time expired, leaving the Cyclones down 34-33.

Three straight turnovers to start the third quarter hurt the Cyclones' momentum, and Rock Valley started to pull away, gaining an 11-point lead. But the Cyclones would not rest. In the fourth quarter, they chipped back to get back within three points, but missed two key 3-point shots. The Golden Eagles hit a three with 12 seconds left in the game for the 6-point lead and ultimate final score.

"In spite of Rock Valley's 33-16 free-throw attempt advantage, the Cyclones fought hard on the road and had more than a few chances to win, but we will chalk it up as a learning experience. We'll keep improving," said Head Coach Delwyn Jones.

Cameron lead the team with 22 points including six 3-pointers. Andrea Robertson added seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Mary Chronopoulou chipped in with 10 points.
