Some good golf on new course

Second place is the Cyclones' bread and butter these days, which they collected at their latest Skyway Conference meet at the newly renovated Heritage Oaks Golf Club in Northbrook.

Being on a completely redesigned course, the Cyclones didn't know what to expect in addition to dealing with cooler temperatures and wind. But that couldn't stop them from playing some good golf and coming second to the consistently tough College of Lake County team.

"We had no clue what to expect, but we did very well. It was good practice for regionals, which usually has similar conditions to today," said Head Coach Matt Lovelace.

Leading the way for the Cyclones was sophomore Jack McDonald and freshman Noah Holstrom each with an 81. Tommy Schaaf came in next with an 83 followed by Randy Miller with 86, Michael Smeraldo, who shot a 93 and Ryan Krell, who finished with 94.
