All-around improvement in second outing

Nearly every Cyclone improved in their second outing of the season, finishing fourth among their conference peers at Randall Oaks Golf Club in Dundee.

The Cyclones were only six shots away from third place (Waubonsee Community College) after a perfect day on the course. Several teams saw low 70s from their golfers, one of those being Cyclone Marty Bennett. He led his team in an outstanding effort, and a career low, shooting a 74. Paul Douglas came in next with an 85 just ahead of Jack McDonald with an 87. Both Connor Finn and Randy Miller finished with an 89 while Patrick Clifton rounded out the scoring with 96.

"It was a good day. The new guys dropped at least five strokes off their previous tournament score. There's still some nerves, and we still left a lot on the course, but almost everyone improved, so I'm happy. Marty played fantastic," said Head Coach Matt Lovelace. "We're headed in the right direction."
