The Moraine Valley men's basketball team has earned several Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championships: 2022-23, 2019-20, 2015-16, 2014-15, 2012-13, 2011-12, 2008-09, 2001-02, 1999-2000, 1997-98, 1995-96
NJCAA Region IV championships: 2012-13, 2011-12, 2001-02, 2000-01, 1998-99, 1989-90

The 2014-15 Cyclones clinched the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference title, not done outright by any men's basketball Skyway team since 2011.
The 2012-13 squad made school history by finishing as runners-up in the NJCAA Division II Championship, higher than any previous team from any Moraine Valley sport. The 2012-13 squad also won more games in a single season than any other previous Cyclone men's basketball team with 31 and had 13 games where they scored 100-plus points in a win.
Past standout athletes include Richaun Holmes (2011-12), Karrington Ward (2012-13) and Dwight Mc Combs (2009-10). Holmes was drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia 76ers in June 2015. Post-college, McCombs played with the National Basketball League of Canada, San Isidro in the Argentinian Torneo Nacional de Ascenso league and the Chilean Club Deportes Espanol de Talca. Ward was the first pick in the second round in the 2015 NBA D-League Draft.
