Comeback falls short in loss

The Cyclones tallied 14 runs in their two-game loss to College of Lake County. The second game even included a comeback attempt from the Cyclones.

GAME 1
Moraine Valley fell behind early in the 19-5 loss in five innings. The Cyclones scored in the second and fifth innings with RBIs from Robert Warchol (1-for-2, 2B), Thomas Carlson (1-for-2) and Colin Bulger (1-for-2, 2B). Righthanded pitcher Daniel Rosado took the loss, surrendering 10 runs on eight hits over three innings, striking out three.

GAME 2
After going down by six runs in the third inning, the Cyclones scraped back by scoring three runs in the fourth and five in the sixth of big hits from Danzel Lucas (1-for-3, 2 RBIs), Warchol (2-for-5, RBI), Maximus Bullock (2-for-5, 2B, RBI). The Lancers tied the game at eight in the seventh to go into extra innings. A few big hits from the Lancers in the top of ninth saw the Cyclones down 11-8. Moraine Valley was able to put one more on the board but ran out of time in the 11-9 loss.

William Miller (2-for-5, RBI) and Gilberto Hernandez (2-for-4, 2 2B, 2 RBIs) made big contributions at the plate. Cole Hermanson started the game, going three innings, allowing six runs on five hits, striking out two and walking one. Jack Riemen took the loss, allowing three hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one.
