Moraine Valley split their doubleheader with Rock Valley College, losing the first game in the final inning but battling back in a decisive victory in the nightcap.

In game one, the Cyclone offense jumped early in the first inning after Alex Martinez singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. Rock Valley fought back to tie things up in the bottom of the second inning, however, at three. Each team added more runs, but the Cyclones were ahead 5-4 going into the bottom of the seventh. A two-run hit from the Gold Eagles ended the game with Moraine Valley losing 6-5.

The Cyclones tallied six hits overall. Stephen Insley and Martinez each collected two hits. Christopher Villafuerte started the game, allowing four hits and four runs over six innings, and striking out two. Daniel Rosado and Luke Bentley entered in relief, each throwing one-third of an inning.

The Cyclone bats took over in the second game in their 7-4 victory. They collected eight hits and again got the bats swinging in the first inning with John Gonsalves driving in a run off a single. Jake Peterka, Gonsalves and Villafuerte each had two hits with latter walking three times. Moraine Valley also was quick on the bags, stealing five in this game. Villafuerte led the way with three stolen bases. Jonathan Runquist was on the hill for Moraine Valley, going three innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out three.
