The weather delayed and discontinued some playoff games for the Cyclones, who went 1-for-2 against Kankakee Community College this weekend and are set to continue a third game today in which they held a lead.

Between each team trading the lead and an hour rain delay on May 11, the dramatics continued into the ninth inning when the Cyclones grabbed their 5-4 victory. The Cyclones scored first on an error from the Cavaliers. They then put up three runs in the sixth, led by Brenden Butler (2-for-4, one run, RBI) and William Curtis (1-for-4, RBI) singles. Kankakee knotted the game up in the bottom of the eighth inning on a Cyclone error. The game was tied at four in the ninth inning when Gilbert Jaime-Baez hit a sac fly that scored Niles Gall (2-for-4, two runs, double) for the go-ahead run and win.

Timothy Dobrik started on the mound, allowing seven hits and two runs over five innings and striking out five. Richie Kiernicki earned the win, going one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and allowing zero runs. Brett Smith three two and third innings in relief.

The next game, May 12, saw a stunted offense that only had three hits from Kyel Alexander, Thomas Moran and Stephen Insley. The Cavaliers scored in the first inning and kept the Cyclone offense down. Ryan Czajowski took the loss, striking out four and allowing seven hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings.

The two teams continued their final matchup and were up 9-5 in the top of the seventh until a rain delay postponed the game until today when they play three more innings.
